All his life, Dr. Wheeler has loved stories about teachers, whether they be trained or untrained, professionals or parents. When he began anthologizing stories twelve years ago, many of his all-time favorite such stories gradually appeared in his collections. Finally, Tyndale House and Focus on the Family editors asked him to put together a collection of stories devoted exclusively to teaching.

What Dr. Wheeler did next was to gather together all of the best teaching stories he had ever found -- regardless of whether they had been anthologized or not -- then rank them from most powerful on down. As it turned out, half had already been featured in earlier books, half had not. The result is one of the most memorable and powerful teacher books ever published.

The book is dedicated to Barbara Leininger Wheeler, Dr. Wheeler's trained teacher mother, who homeschooled him for 14 of the first 16 years of his life.
